A carrier oil is used for aromatherapy treatment to dilute essential oils as they should not be applied directly on to the skin, to help spread the essential oils evenly, to increase the absorption of essential oils into the skin, slow down the evaporation rate of the essential oil
A good carrier oil is 100% pure, has no aroma, is highly penetrative and is good at keeping quality.
Essential Oils
Essential oils are volatile, so they evaporate quickly, mix well with massage medium and they are not lubricant. They are sensitive to heat and light.
They can be used on the skin with massage, in baths, creams, fragrances, lotions, inhalation and compresses.
